This is the introductory course in Key Word Sign (KWS). A highly experienced presenter facilitates this face to face workshop and includes the Getting started with Key Word Sign book.You will learn the principles of KWS and gesture and how this supports communication. You will discover how KWS is different to Auslan, the language of the Deaf Community in Australia. In the practical component of the course you explore natural gestures and will learn up to 80 signs. You will have the opportunity to practice using speech and sign together in interactive activities, building your skills in a supportive and fun group environment. You will leave the workshop with helpful resources to consolidate your learning.
NDIS funding (Self & Plan managed) can be used for this workshop. You will receive an Invoice/Receipt after registering. Agency managed funds, please contact the organiser.
Tickets are non-refundable. By arrangement, you are able to transfer your ticket to another user.
